Ability to play a 3d movie in 2d

As xbmc and now mediaportal can do this would it be possible for mbt and the mb3 clients to play a 3d movie in 2d mode - would enable us to drop duplicates where we have both types stored today

It already can if you rip it into an mkv and include the mvc video track. I've done this on movies such as Wolverine, The Hobbit, Top Gun, and Metallica: Through the Never. All have played perfect in 2d!

 

Now, if MBT's internal player could handle playing them in 3d.... :-)
