GiGo 108 Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 No idea what is going on here, after reinstalling Emby on my NAS a couple of weeks ago it han't been able to show my Movies. I had it set to folder \volume1\films\films But it didn't scan the libarary I kept asking it to rescan but nothing. I moved my films to a new folder \\volume1\Movies\Movies In an attempt to get it scan a different folder, since doing that it still hasn't scanned the folder and picked up the fims. I have told it to scan and it queues and on the server dashboard it says it scans but no films ever show up. I've never had this issues before with emby. Any advice is apprciated TIA
Luke 42077 Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 Hi there, can you please go over an example? What are the contents of that folder? Why do you feel it's not scanning? Thanks.
GiGo 108 Posted August 18, 2019 Author Posted August 18, 2019 Hi there, can you please go over an example? What are the contents of that folder? Why do you feel it's not scanning? Thanks. Ok so; \\Volume1\Movies\Movies\ Has all my films in, in seperate folders \\Volume1\Movies\Movies\2 Fast 2 Furious (2003) \\Volume1\Movies\Movies\8 Mile (2002) etc...... All folders have the film file in either mp4, avi or mkv, no movies are showing up whatsoever..... I have no idea why it's not recognising the content.

You sure 'embysrv' user does have at least read rights on the Movies folder and subfolders?
GiGo 108 Posted August 18, 2019 Author Posted August 18, 2019 You sure 'embysrv' user does have at least read rights on the Movies folder and subfolders? Thanks for your thoughts, but yes it has read/write permissions.
GiGo 108 Posted August 21, 2019 Author Posted August 21, 2019 What other libraries have you created? Hi Luke, sorry I missed your reply, I have created a TV folder, \\volume1\TV and that works great!
FrostByte 5392 Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 Which folder do you have your library set at? \\volume1\Movies\ or \\volume1\Movies\Movies Why the double folder name?
Luke 42077 Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 So you added UNC paths to Emby? What you might have better luck with is mounting the UNC path to a local path in the Synology OS. Then add the local path to Emby instead.
GiGo 108 Posted August 22, 2019 Author Posted August 22, 2019 Which folder do you have your library set at? \\volume1\Movies\ or \\volume1\Movies\Movies Why the double folder name? It has a double folder name as I have; \\Volume1\Movies\Movies <-- for films \\Volume1\Movies\New Movies <-- watch folder for Auto organise So you added UNC paths to Emby? What you might have better luck with is mounting the UNC path to a local path in the Synology OS. Then add the local path to Emby instead. Forgive my ignorance, but I'm not understanding UNC? The path on Movies folder is a local path on my NAS
