cembry 1 Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 I am running Emby 4.2.1.0 on Windows 10 Pro x64. I have my tv shows media sorted in library containing 5 folders. There are only first 4 of them visible when setting up the library. Today I have added the fifth folder to the library but it wont show in the library settings. It wont update the folder list when adding, so I tried it repeatedly. Now the library says it has 8 folders (probably last 4 of them is the same folder I have added today), but when setting up the library, there are still only the 4 of them shown and I am unable to delete unwanted duplicates in the folder list. Is there any way to correct this? (Movies media library contains 6 folders and there are all visible when setting up the library)
Luke 42082 Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Hi, that's strange, never heard of this before. Can you please show a screenshot of the library setup for that library? thanks.
cembry 1 Posted August 16, 2019 Author Posted August 16, 2019 There are screenshots of my tv shows library setup...
Luke 42082 Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 And what is the 5th folder you were trying to add?
Happy2Play 9783 Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 What do you see in your "\emby-server\programdata\root\default\TV Shows" folder? I am betting you will see a *.mblink issue in that folder as you should only have 4 according to your applies folders shown in image above.. 1
cembry 1 Posted August 17, 2019 Author Posted August 17, 2019 I was trying to add the folder T:\HDD01\Series. Media in this folder are showing in the library, but the path is not visible in the library setup. The files in the \emby-server\programdata\root\default\TV Shows folder are on the picture. They are sorted by date, four of them with yesterday date are pointing to the folder T:\HDD01\Series.

Since all the folders have the same name that is reason for all the 1's appended to each link. Technically there should only be 4 mblinks not 8 in that folder as you only have 4 attached folders via the Library. So you can remove the entire library and do several scans so all the false links get removed or verify all the mblinks and remove the duplicates with the most appended 1's. Once you have cleaned up the duplicates then try to add the missing folder again.
Luke 42082 Posted August 17, 2019 Posted August 17, 2019 So you can remove the entire library and do several scans so all the false links get removed I would suggest doing this and running two library scans. Then try adding the library again. The next release of the server will change the back end storage for your libraries so i doubt this will ever happen again. Let us know how you get on. Thanks.
cembry 1 Posted August 17, 2019 Author Posted August 17, 2019 I removed all four mblinks to the last folder added (T:\HDD01\series). Then I deleted 1111 from the names of remaining mblinks (the names were then series, series1, series11, series111) and restarted emby server. Library was showing only four folder, that was correct. Then I successfuly added the last folder. Problem solved, thank you very much for helping! I think there was running a library scan when I was adding the folder do the library. Could it be the reason the folder was not shown in the folder list?
Luke 42082 Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 No, that shouldn't be a problem. I'm not sure what happened but i think the root problem is that the list of folders is stored in two places, and if they fall out of sync there will be a problem. That's something that's being rectified in 4.3. Thanks.
