Music backdrops

Hello,

 

Last week I switched from MediaPortal to Emby.

I’m impressed by all the work you’ve done and I love Emby Theater.

 

There is one thing I like to know:

I have a large collection of Billboard top 100 albums, all tagged with album artists as “various artists” and the tracks have the original artist and single cover art.

Is it possible in the “now playing” for Music view to show the album thumb and the backdrops of the artist instead of the album artist ?

 

Where is the impact ? Emby server, Emby theater or the skin (or all) ?

for album artist=various artists it seems safe bet to use the artist for screen candy.

tor album artist not equal to various artists the previous may not be the case for some (some people have reported they curate multiple album artists into a single one and append specific artwork for the grouping). so deriving from artist(s) may loose something.

That would be improper use of the artist tag i think.

There will be many people who want to show the backdrops and artist thumbs of collection albums the way i suggested i'm sure.
