Implement libde265.js to allow direct HEVC playback

Hi, I was wondering if theres any possibility of implementing https://github.com/strukturag/libde265.js for direct HVEC support. I know that this has downsides as it can be extremely slow on some browsers like internet explorer, but you could give people the option in settings for "software HVEC decoding" or similar.

I looked at this a few years ago and it didn't go so well. I can always re-evaluate it, but the problem is that taking a proof of concept demo like that and integrating it with all of our supported features is quite a large undertaking..

Yeah I kinda expected you to say something along the lines. It could be a possibility in the future but due to licensing costs most browsers will most likely never support HVEC
