floppyhat 3 Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 I didn't have Emby configured to save watched status to the NFO files, and now I would like to have this happen. I set "save user watch data to NFO" to be my username and saved the setting, but it says "To apply the changes to existing titles, you'll need to refresh their metadata manually." I tried rescanning the libraries and selecting "replace all metadata", but the watched flag was not set on stuff I'd watched. If I go into the Metadata Manager and click Save on a video, the NFO file is updated correctly — but I do not want to have to do this for every file Is there a way to get Emby to go through an entire library and write the watched flag out to the NFO file for each video in the library? (It might be that Emby has queued the scan but not run it yet — I can't actually see where the queue is in the dashboard…)
Luke 42081 Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 I tried rescanning the libraries and selecting "replace all metadata", but the watched flag was not set on stuff I'd watched. Hi, it sounds like you need to just wait for it to finish.
floppyhat 3 Posted August 17, 2019 Author Posted August 17, 2019 Thanks — that seems to have been the case. Is there somewhere in the dashboard that shows what background tasks are queued, though? I suspect I didn't help by thinking it hadn't done anything and queueing a second run…
Luke 42081 Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Well it should be done by now, right? And no, currently you can't monitor the refresh queue, apart from the server log, but that's something we need to add.

Lhreaper 2 Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 Is there any way to save watched data for all users? I would like to convert my library, but when I do it removes all watched info.

If so the watched status won't be lost as it's stored in library.db But regardless as ebr pointed out the Configuration Backup plugin is great to use to make sure this info is always backed up and available if needed.

If that is the case, that means those items were not globally identified (via tmdb, imdb etc.). And, in that case, the backup plug-in won't help either. What type of items were these?
