lordhutt 0 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 I have MB server running. I also use XBMC on the same computer. When I add new tv shows or movies it automatically scrapes artwork, creates nfo's etc. Works great... at least I thought at first. It is not giving me proper names for XBMC (even though it is set to).... instead of <movie>-poster.jpg I am simply get poster.jpg and then these are showing up in XBMC.Am I missing something in the settings here? Thanks.
Luke 42078 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 We tested these with a decent sized xbmc group and it worked pretty well. @@sfnetwork led those efforts so maybe he can comment.
lordhutt 0 Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 Actually I thought it was working properly when I first started using.... but lately its not giving me the proper names. I get all the png files like logo, disc, clearart I get the nfo and the MB xml file as well as extrafanart, and extrathumbs folders. But the poster, fanart, and banner are named just like that without the movie name first.
sfnetwork 514 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 (edited) What version of XBMC is that.... Please see wiki, it should be "poster.jpg", etc.. without name. EXCEPT if all you movie files are all in one big folder... Is this your case? Maybe, we could have this option in the XBMC saver plugin to accomodate the "all movie files in one folder" structure though (if we have users with this structure...) ***See last part: Single Video File The following example "videofilename.avi" will now use the thumbnail "videofilename-poster.(jpg/png)". Movies\path\videofilename-poster.(jpg/png)Movies\path\videofilename.avi Note that videofilename.jpg is old Eden terminology, but WILL supersede videofilename-poster.(jpg/png) which is the standard for Frodo and later versions of XBMC. Multi Part (Stacked) Video Files This may not be Frodo terminology, but should still work You can either use the filename of the first file in the stack or the name of the stack, so for: Movies\path\moviename-CD1.aviMovies\path\moviename-CD2.avi Either of the below would work: Movies\path\moviename-CD1.jpgMovies\path\moviename.jpg Movies in Folders Deprecated: If content has been set to Movies, movie.jpg will override any other thumbs for media in that folder. In the following example "videofilename.avi" will now use the thumbnail "poster.(jpg/png)". Movies\path\poster.(jpg/png)Movies\path\videofilename.avi Edited June 1, 2014 by sfnetwork 1
Luke 42078 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Are the movies in their own folder? If so then that would explain that. It's what's documented on the xbmc wiki. we tested this pretty extensively.
sfnetwork 514 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 (edited) But besides the fact that you don't think it should be named like this, is it working in XBMC? (taking for granted that all your movies are in dedicated folders) Frodo and Gotham should support this fine... Edited June 1, 2014 by sfnetwork

lordhutt 0 Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 Yes, all my movies are in individual folders with the same name as the movie. I'm now looking on a pc running Gotham and it seems to be using the artwork fine. The one with the issue is still running Frodo and is not displaying the artwork The naming structure is the same for these two versions, correct?

Yes, Frodo works fine too with this (been using this naming convention for a while on Frodo as well) I think it's a specific issue if not working IMO... Also, "artwork downloader" (which was another reference we used when testing this) is using this as well: 7.1 Filenaming Movies: Poster (poster.jpg) FanArt (fanart.jpg) Extra_fanart (<image ID from provider>.jpg) Extrathumbs (thumb1.jpg to thumb4.jpg) Clearart (clearart.png) Logo (logo.png) Discart (disc.png) Wide_Banner_Icons (banner.jpg) Thumb 16:9 (landscape.jpg) Edited June 1, 2014 by sfnetwork
