Remove Server and add a New Server

Here's my question... I want to remove / delete my current server and replace it with a new one but cannot figure how to do it.  My current sever is a Windows computer, but I now have a NAS ans would like to use that one.  I think I did something right, because when I go to options and choose select server, i can see the NAS, but I do not want to select between the two, I just want to see the NAS and not the Windows computer server option.

I assume you mean web app (app.emby.media) server select.  You should have a delete/remove option to remove the old server from the select screen (usually by clicking on it).

What could we have done to make this easier to discover?

I have tried to remove an old server, but it continually returns.
this has been happening for a  while, the servers were on the same device (windows computer) I removed the server from all my devices I log in through and it still comes back to haunt me. one minute i'm happily watching sthg then it goes dark and I get the log in screen, no biggie, I try log in and it states it's the wrong (invalid) details, but I can however log into the other server that I previously deleted.
At this point I really don't care, could someone just delete the server/s one or the other or even both I really don't care anymore, I can always rebuild afterwards if need be.

Try removing the Emby user from the Server, save, then add back and save.

See if that helps.

Thanks for the reply but it isn't a user issue, sorry I rant a bit when i'm upset, the above post doesn't explain things very well.
Some time back I had my server just go missing, no matter what I tried I got the same message invalid details, I came here for support but to be fair I'm not a patient person, so I deleted the old server and created a new one. Now what is happening is every so often it logs me out and when I try to join again, it states invalid detail, so I manually log in and it takes me to server selection where there should only be one server available but it still shows the old one even though it has been removed from every device I use to log in from, but yet it is still in the server selection. So I clicked on it and hell, it wasn't just there I was running. Ok it's a bit weird but I have access, so I just carry on with the server that loaded, only for the next log in issue to take me right back to the new server and will not allow access  to the previous server (invalid detail again) thing is both servers run from the same device and both use the same folders, so it's annoying but I still have access and both servers have the same files and file locations, i'm not missing anything, all the content is the same.
To be honest it's more frustrating than anything else, but I can't understand how, after I deleted the server (several time) from all devices, can it suddenly just reappear?
Now I'm p****d off and I need a solution, deleting the servers and uninstalling/installing, will that solve the issue? I don't really mind having to rebuild the server.

How are you logging in?  Are you using Emby Connect?

Those are two different things. Which one are you using?

In most cases, it's emby connect, I only use the manual log in when i'm unable to log in via connect.

OK so since your trying to use Emby Connect try what I mentioned above.

However, you can try removing any servers from the client between these two steps.  So once you've removed the Emby Connect username see if you can "forget"/remove the server from the client if it still shows up before adding the Emby Connect username back.

Let us know how that goes.

Sorry for the delay in replying, no it didn't solve the issue but after hours of looking for the solution I happened across a second emby programdata folder, I have deleted that folder and it seems to be working fine now.

Thanks for your patience, I will update you if it happens again.

Well it was working until I restarted to update plugins, now I have nothing, the server simply won't start, I looked at the firewall and there were numerous emby apps listed and all were allowed, found it strange there so many. However I then located the exe file and tried from that location and still nothing, just wont start.
kinda forcing my hand, so it's now my intention to fully uninstall every emby folder/sub-folders and anything else from emby, I will then try again and with a fresh install rather than trying to repair the existing server, it's my I hope this will  resolve the issue.
Oh and I have no logs to show as I can't launch the server, so other than making this post there is no more info I can provide. It's clearly something on this side.

Hi, sounds like maybe you're getting different IPs assigned to your Emby Server and are using UPnP to update port forwarding which may be creating the different port forwards.

What you probably want to do is reserve a specific IP in DHCP for your Emby Server so it always gets the same IP.  Then turn off UPnP updating and manually create the port forward in your router as well as cleanup the existing entries.

If you need a hand with this send me a PM and we can do a remote session with you via AnyDesk to help you get this cleaned up and working.

I have a static IP setup, however I have managed to reinstall and I really don't mind saying but I had so many issues just installing a new server, so without tech knowledge it's clear that there is a conflict on my end.
I have now managed to get it running again, so fingers crossed

Thanks for the fast response, it's truly appreciated.
