Music Artist names split on period

I'm noticing that any music artist in my library is having the name truncated if the name contains a period. For example

 

Mr. Mister -> Mr

Sophie B. Hawkins -> Sophie B

 

Interestingly enough, if the name contains more than one period, It is resolved properly. For example

 

P.O.D

t.A.T.u

Ya, this has been going on for awhile now.  Hope it will be fixed eventually.  I have gotten them all to work now by making sure my tags match mbz and using the web editor to force it to use the correct mbz id when needed.  It's not just periods either, it's also other special characters such as in C+C Music Factory

I've solved this for the next release so that it won't happen going forward, but existing items will still be affected.
