Ok I'm sure it's simple but how does one get the authentication code for the Vimeo plugin?

Figure it out.  You enter the Vimeo Token URL in to a browser and follow the links and it gives you the authentication code.  Think this needs work on the instructions part  .

Keep getting a error when trying to play any videos  " THERE WAS AN ERROR PLAYING THE VIDEO"

You didn't indicate you were using MBC/WMC so they assumed you were using the web client.  That's why they asked about what browser.

 

If you are getting that error it is almost certainly a codec problem.  I'd uninstall all codec packs and install LAV.

I don't actually have any codec packs installed. What is LAV?

Also could I just quickly ask where did all the options go for cover art? You used to be able to select different treatments but I have no options at all. I installed it via the server and there are no options in classic. There is a page in the server but all it has is an option to ignore some folders.

Browser? It's a plug-in. I can't play anything on Vimeo or vevo.

 

I get a pop up saying "cannot play video. WMC cannot connect to the server. The server name may be incorrect or the server is busy. Try again later".

Where should I look for the error log? If it's in the programdata\mediabrowser-classic\logs folder I checked and nothing was written to a log file and I do have the logging option turned on in the configuration

Yes.  Install that and your channel should play.

I had k-lite codec pack installed so I removed it and installed the LAV filters but I'm still getting the error. Are you sure it's the codecs that are at fault? I can't play anything on the Vimeo or vevo plug ins.

The error is;

That is a generic error from WMC.  95% of the time it is a codec problem.  Can you play trailers from the trailers channel?  Or podcasts from the podcasts one?

Hi all,

 

I am having problems playing anything in Vimeo. I can see the video icons but when i try to play them, I get the video screen and the little rotating circle indicating that something is/should be happening but nothing ever plays. I have other channels installed and their videos play fine, just not Vimeo. I have also tried different streaming speeds but nothing works. There are no error messages either.

 

MBS ver 3.0.52898.18702

 

I am running latest version of Firefox (30.0) and can play Vimeo stuff fine if I go directly to the site without using MB.

 

Any ideas?

yes, from several different channels. When I fist loaded the plugin I could play some videos but not all. Now i cannot play any. I have uninstalled and re-installed several times.

That would be the 3rd or 4th time I have re-done the access code and unfortunately there is no difference.

I have just tried again - successfully playing a Vimeo video in Firefox and then trying and failing to play the same one through MBS immediately (on the same machine) afterwards.

Yes I can watch any from Vimeo and vevo in chrome
