Issue with NBA as TV series: Multiple games on same day

Adding the NBA as a TV series with the episode number set as the date in yymmdd format has been working fine so far. But today I had to add two games, both from April 13 2016: Jazz vs Lakers and Grizzlies vs Warriors.

 

Obviously my initial attempt simply generated one episode with two versions:

NBA - s2016e160413 - Grizzlies vs Warriors.mkv

NBA - s2016e160413 - Jazz vs Lakers.mkv

One episode, with versions "Grizzlies vs Warriors" and "Jazz vs Lakers".

 

So I made another attempt, which didn't work either:

NBA - s2016e160413 - Grizzlies vs Warriors.mkv

NBA - s2016e160513(2) - Jazz vs Lakers.mkv

One episode, with versions " - Grizzlies vs Warriors" and "(2) - Jazz vs Lakers".

 

These are the only two games I have for this season, so I figured as a workaround for now I could just add to the episode number:

NBA - s2016e160413 - Grizzlies vs Warriors.mkv

NBA - s2016e1604131 - Jazz vs Lakers.mkv

Except it still only creates one episode, with versions " - Grizzlies vs Warriors" and "1 - Jazz vs Lakers".

 

Why on earth does the third version not work? Is there any workaround for this?

There might be a limit to the number of characters it is examining for the episode number, and that's why the trailing 1 gets ignored. I'm honestly not sure as I've never tried what you're doing before. My suggestion would be to not use the date as an episode number but you we already discussed that in your other topic so it's probably not worth rehashing. The other thing you could do is just use a home videos library instead of TV.

With the NFL I can use week and game - so for example episode 804 is the fourth game of week 8. But the NBA doesn't really split things up that way so I'm not sure how else I could do it.

I figured out the issue: NFO files still existed with the same episode number. Deleting them and rescanning separated the episodes.
