Hi

Can anyone recommend good programs to convert files?

I need to convert to be compatible with tv, phone, tablet, chromecast ... all.

Have you checked out emby server's built in media conversion feature?

Hi

Yes!

I have always only used the Emby converter, but I noticed that it has some issues with chromecast.

It converts but when playing for chromecast gives this message

Because of this problem I look for other solutions.

Do you know a good converter?

I believe so.

Which program do you use to convert your files to all stacks?

What format do you recommend?

Handbrake can be very slow. I simply use ffmpeg. For me, the use is only to deinterlace to 1080p from 1080i. But still, it's the same program that can be used for your purposes of transcoding. I would think mp4 should be universally playable on your devices?

HandBrake really is very slow. There must be a reason.

Can you access any websites that can convert the files?

Openload.co is great, but it has a low transfer rate, almost 1 day waiting to upload a movie.

Do you know any that are good?

Thanks for the help of all of you <3

ffmpeg is  fast, that's what emby uses to real time transcode for playback. It's more a matter of the settings you use to make it compatible, ffmpeg will certainly do that.

@@sfatula Can I install ffmpeg on my windows and use it to convert?

I don't understand about it yet.

I am sure you can, and the command line version already comes with Emby, it should already be installed wherever it is on Windows. It's not the simplest program to use by any means. But it is scriptable. There are possibly GUI versions for Windows, not sure, I don't use Windows.
