Hi,

In 1 folder I have 4k, 1080p, 720p & 404p of the same file,

is there any way to see what Resolution Emby has chosen for playback? (the Dashboard only shows Direct Play and log file only shows the device being used) .. playback is from a family member outside of my network.

I know Emby automatically chooses the best quality depending on hardware/network available.

Also is there anyway to increase the number of latest shows being shown? (think default is 16)

cheers

Hi.  Stats for nerds on the playback device will show you the original media information.

Thanks.

Hi ebr,

I was talking more of server side than device side, I know there is the option of checking the "Stats for Nerds" on the playback device but the Dashboard only displays "Direct playback"

You can see the same information in the server dashboard under Active Devices. Have you checked that out?

Not sure where mate as I only see "Direct Play" (See attatchments)

On the mobile Android app it does'nt show the resolution but looking at the bitrate I know it is the 1080p file that Emby has chosen.

Right you can't see the exact file being played but using the media information you should be able to ascertain that. Does that help?

think I'm confusing you mate,

If say account 1 is watching a file outside of my network (each folder has 4k,1080p,720p,404p of the same file) Emby has chosen which resolution is best for Account 1 (direct playing) .. how do I find what resolution has been chosen as I don't have access to the device account 1 is using.

Folder Structure

Movies - Movie Name (2019) - Movie Name (2019) - 4k, Movie Name (2019) - 1080p, Movie Name (2019) - 720p, Movie Name (2019) - 404p

I don't think you can currently see this from the dashboard.  Probably a good idea to put the "i" icon on there even for direct play/stream to show this kind of detail.
