Web Theatre: User Color-scheme won't be applied on other machines

Hi all,

 

When I select a color-scheme for one of my users (admin) in the Webinterface of the Emby Theatre (not the admin-interface), and I login this user on another computer, the webinterface does not reflect the selected color-scheme of the user-profile.

 

Since the color-scheme is a setting in the user-profile, I would expect, that the profile will have the selected scheme on all machines, where the user will log in.

 

Or is this currently the desired behave, and this should be handled as a feature request?

It's a per device setting.

Just to expand on that - the thinking here is that different devices could be in different environments and, thus, want different theme settings.

 

e.g. a phone in your hand vs. a TV app in a dark room.

hm... understand.
Maybe, it is an idea, to write a short note that this setting is "per device" - or, to implement an option, if the choosen color scheme should be applied on all devices for this account or not.

 

The reason, why I did this:

I have an admin account and a non admin account.

It would be much easier for me to see, which user is currently logged in (in an app, or webpage) when I see the corresponding color scheme

Sure - I can check, if the user is able to access the admin interface... but...

It would make more sense to me, if the library sorting and what elements should be displayed on the home screen would be a "per device" setting, instead of a user profile setting... e.g. I don't care about the latest movie, latest episodes secion when I am using emby on my mobile phone, but havin this in the Webpage would be nice...

Hi, another thing, I want to mention:

- Since the Color scheme is a per device setting, I've noticed the following:

 

Changed Color Scheme for my Admin user to dark (red).

Logged out the User.

 

Now, the Color Scheme stays as the selected one on the Login Page, until I login another user.

Then it will be changed to the default scheme for this user.

I would recommend one of the following options:

-> Emby Admin Interface:
Set "emby default color scheme (for all users and all devices)

 

-> user Profile:
Set User Color Scheme
Option: per device or on all devices

 

Login Screen should always use the default color scheme, which was set in the admin interface.
