Luke 42083 Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Hi there, can we please look at an example? Please attach the information requested in how to report a problem. Thanks !
Solution samuelqwe 317 Posted August 6, 2019 Solution Posted August 6, 2019 To keep user accounts and configuration, use the Backup plugin. That should allow you to reset everything and still keep all your settings. 1

I still have to search my library again, and the user accounts was there, but not linked to an email or user account on emby connect, but luckily my browser had them saved. Otherwise it all looks good so far, hopefully no more crazy bugs for a while. Edited August 7, 2019 by Shidapu
Shidapu 14 Posted August 7, 2019 Author Posted August 7, 2019 Okey, found a serious bug to report. I have reinstalled and everything is fresh. But i have the same issue as before, 100% cpu and 100% GPU usage by FFMpeg. I will be posting logs at the bottom of this thread. The movie in mention causes the issues:Interview.with.the.Vampire.The.Vampire.ChronicleTranscoding by a GTX 1080.Transcoding setting to "Yes", and Manually by the GPU. Luke 42083 Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 It is transcoding. That is the way ffmpeg works is that it will go as fast as it can and use as many resources as possible. You're also playing VC1 which is a very costly video codec to transcode, even for powerful machines. Can you try playing something that is not vc1? Thanks.

What is the best codec to use if i want to transcode? Was thinking that i could just convert it to something else? I guess i could go with x265. Edited August 7, 2019 by Shidapu
Luke 42083 Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Your source files are VC1. Converting them on the fly is a very taxing process for even powerful machines. If your source files were h264 this would be much more efficient, and in many cases you might not need transcoding at all. Have you checked out our convert media feature? You could use this to convert the files ahead of time, prior to playback: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/blog/1/entry-423-emby-server-34-released/ 1

WIll check it out later. Right now im converting it with "Handbrake", and your definitly right, it's very taxing on the system and takes a very long time. But i'm gonna go ahead and try anyways. Thanks again.
Shidapu 14 Posted August 8, 2019 Author Posted August 8, 2019 Thanks for the feedback. Another question, some of my users, and myself have found some subtitles being out of sync, is there any way to sync the subtitles in the UI?
Luke 42083 Posted August 8, 2019 Posted August 8, 2019 No but that is planned for the future. Thanks. 1
