I am getting the following error message upon startup of my qnap server.

Severity Level    Date    Time    Users    Source IP    Application    Category    Content
Error    2019/08/05    04:43:48    System    127.0.0.1    ---    ---    [App Center] Failed to install Emby Server 4.0.2.0. Installation package is incompatible. Use the correct package.

I am unable to find out why it is installing or h ow to stop it from installing.

I have contacted qnap who have told me not their problem as it's a 3rd party app.

Desperately need help, I am not very computer savvy so hoping for an easy resolve.

Hi there, what model QNAP? How are you trying to install?

hello,

My Model is Ts-231P. Im not trying to install. I tried emby and removed it months ago however whenever my qnap restarts it seems to be trying to re-install as shown by previous error message. It's almost as if the uninstall didn't work correctly.

Ive downloaded putty as been recommended but i'm new to this and haven't the faintest idea how to use it to access what i need to do

No problem.

Use PuTTY to connect to your NAS as the 'admin' user (enter your NAS 'admin' account password when requested), then delete everything in the [update_pkg] directory. Enter this command exactly as shown to clear that directory:

rm /mnt/HDA_ROOT/update_pkg/*

admin@192.168.0.10's password:
[~] # rm /mnt/HDA_ROOT/update_pkg/*
rm: /mnt/HDA_ROOT/update_pkg/helpdesk: is a directory

this is what i get when entering that ommand promt. I'm obviously doing something wrong

No, it's my fault. I forgot there can be directories at that location too. No problem, they can safely be deleted.

Use this command to delete everything there:

rm -r /mnt/HDA_ROOT/update_pkg/*
