Allow Android phone/tablet screen to turn off when media is paused

I know that this might break people pausing Live TV so this should be a per-user option that can be enabled or disabled. 

 

In my case, I don't watch Live TV on Emby. I frequently watch some episodes of a series in the evening and I've become conditioned to just press pause and shut the tablet case when I'm done through apps like VLC, Netflix, BBC iPlayer, etc.)

 

Now I'm using Emby as my main media player, I'm waking up almost every morning to a totally drained tablet as I just pressed pause in the middle of an episode and fell asleep, rather than exiting the episode.

 

I'm trying to 'recondition' myself to stop doing that but invariably I slip up...

I'm sorry to be dragging up such an old topic, but I notice that this has still not been implemented. I've looked through every option in the Android app, but I can't find any option that will allow Emby to follow the standard Android screen timeout (instead of keeping the screen on indefinitely, which drains the battery unnecessarily).

I'd love for this feature to be implemented. Thanks.

HI, yes this is an area where we need to improve. For now I would just suggest doing a full stop by pressing the back button in the video player.

Is there any news on this being implemented?  I use emby on a tablet in my camper in bed, so energy saving is a kind of priority.
