after updating to the new server app in QNAP (don't know if affecting other nas brands or not) I am unable to access my emby acct via either one of my TCL roku tvs or my iphone or my ipad it prompts me to connect but then says server is unable to connect then prompts me to get a pincode to install a new server considering that nothing else has changed except the app update and can access the server via web browser with no issues seems that the update breaks something with the pin codes i already have.

Hi, what do you mean by this? There is no such thing as pin codes that you already have.

The pin codes are for signing in, not for installing a new server.

 

Is it possible you're just not reading the instructions that are being given to you on-screen?

I am following the instructions on screen the pincodes im referring to are when installing a new server to the enby app on say the roku initially you have to go to /pin website to add device which was already done a long time ago and after update it no longer recognizes the device that was already registered

guess i should have posted the full address which is https://emby.media/pin when i checked the dashboard settings via web browser the devices are already listed and recognized

This is for connecting to an existing server, not for installing a new one. What gives you the impression that it is for installing a new server?

Im not installing a new one reread the original post and you will see that after initially trying to connect it gives me a unable to connect error then it prompts me to add a new server(which has not changed from before) i have not added a new server because the server was originally usable until the update this happens on all of my devices

as a test i downgraded back to the 4.1.1.0 version and everything connects with out a problem

maybe something with the apps not recognizing the upgraded server?

ok found a solution reinstalled the 4.2.0.40 version went to roku and deleted the server re-entered the server using exact same ip number and port then tried to connect and now it works

no idea why had to do this as server name was exactly the same also

interestingly no longer prompts for a new pincode either so can connect directly or via connect

Forgot to mention this also worked on ipad and iphone apps as well
