deeprain 4 Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 Hello together, I would like to ask, whether there’s a possibility to link a movie to a tv series? To give an example: The „StarGate“ TV series has some movies before and after the actual series, which I would like to see when accessing the series in Emby, for instance as „series extras“, „series additional movies“ or similar. Is there an opportunity to achieve this in Emby?? Thanks and kind regards
Emby Tower 34 Posted July 29, 2019 Posted July 29, 2019 The Stargate movies are also integrated in TVDB as "Specials", pehaps you want to switch?! I by myself have it done with Stargate, X-Files, and some more.
deeprain 4 Posted July 29, 2019 Author Posted July 29, 2019 Thanks for feedback Tower, I have already done so with some other series. My question is in this case not quite clean. Is it possible that the movies that are stored as specials in series are also displayed in the Movie Library? on file system level it would be a symbilc link, but how does emby respond of this link? Or there another option? I don't want to have the movie on the HDD twice.
Solution Luke 42083 Posted July 29, 2019 Solution Posted July 29, 2019 You could put them both into a collection. 1
deeprain 4 Posted July 30, 2019 Author Posted July 30, 2019 Hi Luke, many thanks for your feedback and Wow, I'm totally excited about this feature. I followed this guide and everything went perfectly. I'm currently using plex, but soon it's time to switch to emby. That's why I've already bought the premium subscription. https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Collections keep it up. Great work.
crusher11 1102 Posted July 30, 2019 Posted July 30, 2019 I used a .strm file to have Fire Walk with Me show up in my Twin Peaks specials, while keeping the file itself with my movies and having it display there as well.

deeprain 4 Posted July 31, 2019 Author Posted July 31, 2019 https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Strm-files Put the file location instead of a Web URL. It works very well too. Many thanks. I'll play a bit and see what happens. In any case many thanks to all.
