Live TV Setup in Emby Server v4.2.0.40

Don't know if this is in the right place, but I found when Emby Server updated to v4.2.0.40 that I couldn't configure a new Live TV Service.

With the previous version 4.1.1.0 there were two menu items under Live TV at the top of the page, Devices and Services. These menu items are no longer visible in 4.2.0.40, at least in Firefox 68.0.1.

Is the setup somewhere else on the page in the new server version? I couldn't locate it.

TIA

Have you clicked on the + symbol next to TV Sources ?

If you do, you get this:

Thanks for the response, but that option is the Devices option, and I need the Services option which enables installation of plugins such as Vu+ and Next Pvr. See attachment.

Sorry, I don't use them, so hopefully someone else can help you, but are they not listed under the Plugins page in your Dashboard ?

I couldn't see them there, and have now reverted to an earlier image of Win10 with Emby Server 4.1.1.0 so can't check. In 4.1.1.0 the plugin section lists the currently installed PVR Service, but not the others.

Click the + button next to tv sources and then select other. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Did you click on the "Catalog" tab at the top of the page?

I did try that but it did not help.

I didn't, but I see now that you have pointed it out to me that in Server v4.1.1.0 that link does bring up other Live TV services such as Vu+ and clicking on the Vu+ plugin does open up a dialogue to install it.

Am I to take it that this is now the way to install Live TV services, and not from the Live TV page which previously gave am option for Devices or Services? Or is this a bug that will be fixed to once again give these two options on the Live TV page of the Server setup?

It is amazing how a small design change can end up being perceived as a problem or bug. I'm not blaming you, it happens all the time.

If you click the + button next to TV sources it tells you exactly what to do.

Browse the Emby plugin catalog to install additional Live TV providers.

Ok so click the plugin catalog link, then locate Next Pvr, install it, and everything will be exactly the same as before.

All i did was remove the redundancy of the Services tab, which means you now have to use the plugin catalog to install it. I put the "Other" option in TV sources so that the help text would hopefully end up guiding you there.

I see now. I think it is because, intuitively, one will always look for the option that one is used to. When I didn't see the option any more I did not automatically register that clicking the + button next to TV sources would open a pointer to the Emby plugin catalogue.

I'm not complaining, just pointing out that when faced with something that one us not used to, one will not automatically look to inbuilt help to try and work out why something is different.

Hopefully this thread will help others to see the change that has been made.

Regards
