nmkaufman 50 Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 This problem may have been reported, but I'm really not sure how to search for this problem, or how to describe it. See the image, below. This is a recurring problem with almost every album added to emby. Doing a 'refresh' and 'replace all metadata' fixes it. Is this happening for anyone else?
Luke 42080 Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Hi, does that track have a disc number embedded in the metadata of the audio file?
nmkaufman 50 Posted July 13, 2019 Author Posted July 13, 2019 (edited) It does, I double checked and all the tracks are tagged identically, with the only exceptions being track # and title. It's always the first track, for some reason. All my incoming music sits in my 'downloads' folder, and then is tagged and moved to my music folders with picard, so it would never get seen by Emby until it's properly tagged. Happy2Play 9782 Posted July 13, 2019 Posted July 13, 2019 Only thing that would cause this is embedded tags. You would need to view the tagged shown by FFprobe as that is what Emby uses to read the embedded tags. Or ensure all tags are removed before picard processes them. You can see the command line example here. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/65906-album-artists-not-displaying-correct/?p=677247
nmkaufman 50 Posted July 13, 2019 Author Posted July 13, 2019 I use the same software as that person, so it's probably related. Thanks.
Luke 42080 Posted July 14, 2019 Posted July 14, 2019 Yes ffprobe most likely would reveal the answer. You'll most likely find a discrepancy between the first track and the others. Still, I'm going to change this and make this less noticeable by not showing the disc header when there's only one disc. It's not a solution, the discrepancy is still in the embedded metadata of the file, but it will greatly reduce this type of troubleshooting.
