CChris 59 Posted July 7, 2019 Posted July 7, 2019 Hi There, After switching my installation from a Synology NAS to a 'home server PC' i thought, it would bring some better playback experience if I stream movies over ChromeCast to my TV. Unfortunately, yesterday evening I noticed, that I still have issues with the Playback on my TV.I am not sure, what exactly is causing these issues, but the movie stops for a second, or is jumping - then, after a minute or so, the playback is smooth for a while, before starting again with jumps and stops. I think, it is related to transcoding... but I am not sure.I have now changed the Transcoding settings from "Amount of Processor Threads" from Auto to 4... (I haven't checked, if there's a change now) - but I think, that there could also be an improvement in buffering and pre-loading...Is there any setting which I may have missed or where I could have a look? Thanks and with best regards,Christoph
Luke 42079 Posted July 9, 2019 Posted July 9, 2019 Hi there, let's look at an example. Please see how to report a media playback issue. thanks.
CChris 59 Posted July 9, 2019 Author Posted July 9, 2019 (edited) Hi,sorry - thought, that someone might have directly an idea Attached are the ffmpeg-remux logs from one of the affected movies.I think, it is related to the conversion of DTS to AC3 Audio, but I'm not quite sure, since it does not affect all movies with DTS... Issue happened while streaming a movie with the Android App over Google ChromeCast to my TV.I haven't noticed these issues for that movie while using the webapp of the server directly... It happened for two different smartphones - Samsung Galaxy S9 and Google Pixel XL I don't think, that it is related to the Android version on the phones, so I will skip information like OS version and things like this... Any further logs / information required? CChris 59 Posted July 12, 2019 Author Posted July 12, 2019 Hi, any feedback?Do you require some other information?
CChris 59 Posted July 14, 2019 Author Posted July 14, 2019 Hi @@Luke,today I have tried the same movie again with another Audio Codec.Unfortunately, it did not work :-( I have attached all logs from /var/lib/emby/logs... Currently, I am a bit frustrated about the playback quality on the TV and it does not make much fun to "enjoy" movies... :-(Hopefully, these logs will help to detect what my issue is. Thanks andbest regards,Christoph embyserver.zip
CChris 59 Posted July 14, 2019 Author Posted July 14, 2019 Probably, this could be my issue: I am using mkv containers - and it seems that the "re-package on the fly" does cause the stucking playback...
Luke 42079 Posted July 28, 2019 Posted July 28, 2019 I have not seen any problems. I would try it again. Thanks.
CChris 59 Posted July 28, 2019 Author Posted July 28, 2019 "try it again"...Sorry, but this happens repeatingly on several different movies. II will try it again with the updated version of emby and a movie, where I know, that this issue happened...But how could we proceed, if this issue still persists? What would you need for further analysis?
