TwistedGX 0 Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 Hey, i have been trying to set up my library with the anime plugin from the cataloge but it doesnt seem to fetch any metadata conserning the shows, all the shows are detected in the library just fine but they contain 0 info i tried even adding the values manually via the id link but it doesnt seem to find anything anyway. i found this https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Plugins.Anime and according to it the cataloge anime plugin is out of date it being 1.3.7 and the github one is 1.4.2 so i tried to install the one from github but i couldnt get it to work. please help!!
Happy2Play 9783 Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 The version differences are according to the Server version you are running Stable or Beta. So v1.3.7.0 applies to Stable and 1.4.2.0 applies to Beta.
TwistedGX 0 Posted July 6, 2019 Author Posted July 6, 2019 (edited) Ok, but i still dont know why it doesnt fetch any metadata Edited July 6, 2019 by TwistedGX
Luke 42081 Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Hi, please start by discussing an example and attaching the information requested in how to report a problem: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/790-how-to-report-a-problem/?view=getnewpost Thanks.

Luke 42081 Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Can you show complete folder structure examples as I can only see a little glimpse from here. But please keep in mind that anime is a TV library and supported naming conventions will need to be used: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/TV-naming Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

Luke 42081 Posted July 6, 2019 Posted July 6, 2019 Ok, those are not supported naming conventions so i would expect that to be a problem. You'll need to manually enter season 1 for those episodes using the metadata editor.
TwistedGX 0 Posted July 6, 2019 Author Posted July 6, 2019 I tried renaming the entry according to the tv guide still no change the plugin doesnt grab any metadata current path is Anime/ Overlod II/ Overlord II - S1E01 https://i.gyazo.com/2dc9ade32d1269624b0f101ff0edc1a2.png
Luke 42081 Posted July 7, 2019 Posted July 7, 2019 Additionally I do see some requests here to anidb, so it looks like it got something, no?

Filebot is a great utility for that, https://www.filebot.net/ Check this pics

josenightbreed 4 Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 (edited) I've bee a happy camper since i discovered filebot. Look at this. And this. And these are all the places where it can get the metadata from to rename and organize. Not trying to resell something or other lol, just recommending what has worked for me for movies and shows .... it even renames the subtitle files to match the video's name. In another note, some series are a pain to organize and catalog, you need to track down the english names and crossreference that in the tvdb, moviedb and others untill you find the right one for the rename, also the order in which you set the plugins on the library, look here should influence the metadata search and retrieval, unless some dumb bug messes things up XD Hope i was of some help Edited July 8, 2019 by josenightbreed
Luke 42081 Posted July 8, 2019 Posted July 8, 2019 If you're still having an issue and not willing to rename further and use tvdb instead, then I would suggest waiting for the upcoming 4.2 server release, after which you'll receive an updated version of the anime plugin. We're reaching the limits of my anime knowledge here. The plugin is a community addition and the source code can be found here: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby.Plugins.Anime Contributions are most welcome. I know there have been a number of changes in the plugin which you will receive after Emby Server 4.2 is released. That may end up helping here.
