Hi,

I have an Emby Premiere account with a few users who can access my server. I'm not having trouble at home but some of my family that, previously, had no trouble accessing my server all of a sudden cannot login. I believe one of them is using a Surface laptop and another one is using an Xbox. I haven't changed the password or anything. I've gone through Emby connect several time to no avail. My desktop would not show up nor could we manually connect to it. We tried removing one of the users then re-sending an invitation. This time the server appeared as a choice when trying to do Emby connect but just gives us "Connection Failure: we're unable to connect to the selected server right now. Please ensure it is running and try again." Again, it works perfectly fine at home and has been working external connections in the past. What can I do to fix this? Thanks.

Did the IP change?

This problem started about a month ago, so it was the same for a while. We did just get a new provider today, which is why I am trying to figure this out now.

If you have a new ISP then you will definitely have a different IP. Are the IPs in the Emby dashboard, correct?

Yes, The Remote (WAN) access one is on my dashboard.

Does a site like canyouseeme.org show your Emby ports open?

It said it could not see service on my port as the connection timed out.

Did you get a new router with your new service? If yes, have you configured the portforwarding, correctly? If no, have you reconfigured your router, correctly?

Under my firewall settings the port is shown as open though. I had to go through this when I first set up my server.

But the IP has probably changed. Have you checked that?

Sorry if I sound ignorant but what is port forwarding? The router/ modem is one piece of equipment setup by my provider. Does something need to be done with it?

Oh, well then that is likely the issue. Your router has a firewall that you need to allow the Emby traffic to pass through. You do this by forwarding the port and IP that the Emby server is using. There is information in the connectivity wiki about that. Did you read that part?
