PoBear 19 Posted July 2, 2019 Posted July 2, 2019 Hi I'm trying to access the server via the web app and I am getting a "forbidden" message displayed. The Emby server is on another machine from the one I am trying to access it from, this machine has previously accessed the web app but not for some time. I can access the server from another machine via the web app without problem. I've copied the working url across and still get the message. I can't see anything in the server log that relates to the problem. Thanks
Luke 42077 Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Hi, what url is in the browser address bar? Are you sure that's correct?
PoBear 19 Posted July 3, 2019 Author Posted July 3, 2019 Yes, the URL is correct I copied the URL from the machine that is working on to double check. The error is strange it's just a blank page with the word "forbidden" in the top left in what I would call a console font. The machine has access to the server, I can see the disks and my Kodi system is synching data and playing content via the Emby server.
Luke 42077 Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Have you tried rebooting the server machine? Can you please attach the emby server log? thanks.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted July 3, 2019 Posted July 3, 2019 Do you have any setting applied to Advanced-Hosting? As this is easily reproducible with added information to Hosting.

Happy2Play 9780 Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 What settings did you customize? My test was with LAN Networks and not allowing remote connections.
Frankborg 0 Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 I am having the same issue but now is clear after reading this. thanks for sharing
Luke 42077 Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 Well sure, you could misconfigure the server and end up locking yourself out. If that happens it's only doing what you set it to do. What exactly did you set?
PoBear 19 Posted July 19, 2019 Author Posted July 19, 2019 Sorry for the late reply I've tested accessing multiple times and nothing is being added to the logs. In case it was specific to Edge I tried accessing with Chrome and this worked. My initial thought was that an old password was being presented but I have no passwords stored on that installation of Edge but just to be sure I cleared everything and tried again with the same result. So, from the same machine, I can access with Chrome but not with Edge using exactly the same URL.
Luke 42077 Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 @@PoBear can you show a screenshot of edge? Perhaps windows security settings?
