whiteguard 0 Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 os: server2016 video card :nvidia 1050ti when i playback 4k h265 clip, the console tells the decoding or encoding was software embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode.txt
Luke 42087 Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 Hi there, as a test can you try turning off the subtitles? These need to be burned in with transcoding and that could be the reason why. Please see if that makes a difference. Thanks.
Luke 42087 Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 Actually are you sure decoding of this file is supported? See here for the 1050: https://developer.nvidia.com/video-encode-decode-gpu-support-matrix In the second section for nvdec.

Luke 42087 Posted July 5, 2019 Posted July 5, 2019 Right this is still 10-bit 4k hevc which i'm not sure your GPU supports based on my link above. That's why more work is done on the CPU. Does that answer your question?
