Can’t change password

Here’s a weird one

 

I have moved everything over from Plex to Emby and have all my ppl on Emby now. Been using it for exclusively for a cpl months. Everything’s great.

 

One super annoying thing though. Emby gave me this long number/letter password back when...and for the life of me, Emby won’t let me change it. I’ve tried to change it on the computer, iPad, iPhone apps etc. It always reverts back to the long one. I’ve tried dozens of times lol

Sorry, are you referring to Local User or Connect/Guest password?  Emby UI can only set Local User passwords, Connect passwords are change here in the Emby Community.

That is something that will be fixed in 4.2 as there is no such thing as a guest anymore. Everyone will have a Local account also. But the local account and the connect account passwords are still separate. So changing password in the UI in the next release still has nothing to do with the connect password.

 

Connect password still have to be changed here.
