Resizing with ffdshow in MBT

Hi, I just need to start by saying that although I have been a loyal fan of media browser since, almost the beginning, I am new to this forum. Mostly because it I has always just worked perfectly for me and done everything I've ever needed.

 

So please just a big thank you to all the devs and admins and forum members who have made this such a brilliant piece of software, thanks for all your hardwork.

 

Please excuse me if this has been discussed before, but I am technically challenged and although I did notice some discussions on the issues I have around MBT, I did not understand them.

 

Basically my set up is as follows, I have a Nas box with freenas and all my media loaded on it. I streamed this to all my PC,s in the house using MB 2, using ffdshow to resize these movies to my screen resolution ant therefore removing the black bars that showed up on some of my movies.

 

This worked reasonably well for me and I stopped trolling the forums to see what was new, last weekend I had to reload my main PC and that's when I discovered MBT. I love it cept for three things, and I don't know if these are my own stupidity. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

1) as far as I understand MBT works with lav filters and does not work with ffdshow, does that mean I can no longer resize my movies, I tried to use ffdshow but it did not work, is there another way to make all my media run at the same size regardless of what it was originally encoded in.

 

2) my volume button does not seem to work from my WMC remote in MBT, forcing me to use MB Classic. Am I doing something wrong?

 

3) it noticed that folders are now listed alphabetically and you can no longer rearrange the order, I.e. TV shows listed before documentaries. Is this just me being stupid and I missed a setting or is this the new design.

 

All in all, I am a die hard fan, mostly because I am not a computer genius, and for the most part this is so easy to use, but if someone does have some answers to the above I would really appreciate it. Please remember that I do not understand most of what I have read on this forum, so keep it simple, please

Not sure about 1 & 2, someone maybe can help u with them, but from what I understand ffdshow doesn't work with MBT (yet?).... As for 3. If u want to change the order of ur media folders go into the server in ur web browser, select a folder and click the edit button. U should see a field called sort order. Use this field to change the order they appear in by simply putting a 1 for movies, 2 for TV shows, 3 for documentaries as an example

I think #2 was brought up in another thread. If your talking about the aspect ratio and zoom. I believe its on the stove with low heat.
