uname -a: Linux emby 4.9.0-9-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.9.168-1+deb9u3 (2019-06-16) x86_64 GNU/Linux

Format: VIDEO_TS

Emby Server version: 4.1.1.0

Emby Client: Fire TV Stick, Version: 1.7.23a

Movie Source: EMC NAS on local network.

Network Core: Arista

Network Access Layer: Cisco switches

Wireless: Eero Mesh WiFi.

Multiple movies will pause anywhere from 30-58 minutes in.  After that the movie cannot be played further.

Looking through the logs I see the error mentioned in the topic title.  Looking at the ffmpeg log, I see the last line refers to the movie's directory, as if it were trying to play it vs. the actual movie files.

What doesn't jive with me, is why it works for a random period and then stops.

Logs attached.

HI, please try refreshing the metadata on this title from the web app and then try again. Thanks.

No joy.  Refreshed on all the trouble titles and same behavior exhibited.  Still seeing the exception in the logs.  Do you need another set of log files?

Actually sorry I think I know the answer here. There was an issue for dvd folder rips with the 3.5 to 4.0 upgrade. What you can do to resolve this is remove them from your emby library, do a full scan to clear them out of the database, then add them back. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

So I fell into the trap of using the delete option to remove the movie from my library and ended up removing the media files from my NAS.  I did this with about 5 titles, so off to find them again.  I know this is being dealt with in another thread, but wanted to mention it here for the benefit of future readers.

I found another movie that was exhibiting the same issue.  How should I remove them from the library without deleting the media?  I don't see an option in the LIbrary web interface and the only option I find in the app is the dreaded delete option.

Hi, what is being dealt with? The delete option deletes files. Did you make sure to read the confirmation dialog?

How should I remove them from the library without deleting the media?

We don't have an option for this. We do have mechanisms to hide media files such as a .ignore file in the folder.

Yes, I did read the dialog.  It says it will delete it from my library, which is synonymous with "remove."  The thread I found was regarding adding an additional message to mention deleting the physical files off of the storage system.

So I'm a little confused.  You mentioned removing the files from the library then doing a rescan.  But then mention that there is no way to remove them without deleting.  So how do I go about troubleshooting?  Do I need to relocate the media, delete it from the library, move the media back and then rescan?

Ok so then the app you deleted from has not yet been updated with our newer dialog, where it actually tells you what file or folder will be deleted.

Sorry for the confusion, but yes, you'd need to either temporarily relocate them, or if your entire library is folder rips, then you could just remove the library from Emby library setup, run a full scan to empty out the database, and then add it back.
