darkassassin07 652 Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 (edited) I manualy identified the series Doctor Who (2005) by clicking on identity in the series details, entering the imdb id then selecting the only result (with replace images enabled) IMDB id used: tt0436992 This completed just fine however all 11 seasons were named 'Doctor Who (2005)'. I manually edited each one changing the title field to 'Season X'. These seasons now display the correct name when viewing the series details or the season details, however the details of each episode still displays 'Doctor Who (2005) - Doctor Who (2005)' instead of 'Doctor Who (2005) - Season X' <images removed> Edited August 23, 2020 by darkassassin07
Happy2Play 9783 Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 (edited) I am able to reproduce this with any series. It happens if you reidentify a series also, not specific to by IMDBid as I reproduced by name. Only tested in 4.1.1.0 but will follow up doing this same test on current beta. Only tested on a database only library. Follow up beta is the same, test metadata in library also. Season title is recorded as series titles. Season 0 remains Specials but other Season x folders are series titles. Example Season nfo <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?> <season> <plot>The first season of 3rd Rock from the Sun, an American television series, began January 9, 1996, and ended on May 21, 1996. It aired on NBC. The region 1 DVD was released on July 26, 2005.</plot> <outline>The first season of 3rd Rock from the Sun, an American television series, began January 9, 1996, and ended on May 21, 1996. But you have to manually resolve any items already Identified as reidentifying does not resolve the issue. *Another note, auto detection does not have this behavior only "Identify". I added "Doctor Who (2005)" with Season x folder and they were titled Season x with Season metadata downloader enabled. Edited June 18, 2019 by Happy2Play Follow up information 1
Happy2Play 9783 Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 So then it's coming from tmdb? I wouldn't necessarily say that since it does not happen during auto detection, but does when you use Identify and have TMDB season metadata downloader enabled.

Re-identifed by name, replace images disabled this time. Seasons were all renamed to 'Bojack Horseman' and manually editing them changes the series+season details display, but not the season title on individual episodes details pages. The tvdb is my top series metadata downloader, followed by themoviedb then open movie db (all enabled). Season metadata dler is TheMovieDB (only option, and its enabled) Episode dlers are the same as series. Nfo saver is enabled.

darkassassin07 652 Posted June 18, 2019 Author Posted June 18, 2019 (edited) Ah, thats what I was missing. I went to the series details and refreshed metadata with the setting 'scan for new and updated files'. Dr. Who is now displaying the correct info on episode details. To be clear I had made all my edits directly through the emby apps. I didn't edit any files manually. I didn't expect to have to re-scan after those sorts of changes. Thanks Happy2Play Edited June 18, 2019 by darkassassin07
Luke 42083 Posted June 19, 2019 Posted June 19, 2019 What about just when refreshing metadata on the season or series?
darkassassin07 652 Posted June 19, 2019 Author Posted June 19, 2019 That's exactly what I did luke. I opened the details of the series, then refreshed from that page with the 'scan for new and updated files' option. I haven't tested refreshing a single season, only the full series.
