Just purchased but Server won't install...

Keep getting Application won't install messages. Searched online and did some RegEditing and that still didn't work.... any ideas? Purchased the premiere subscription and would love to get this rolling...

On what OS are you trying to install?  What exact error are you encountering and when?

Windows 10. Run the install and it and it says "Application cannot be started. Contact the application vendor."

From reading through, I could be wrong, but sounds like the problem is on Emby's end... I tried the Beta line too and that gave the same error.

Make sure you are downloading a fresh setup.exe from our website and that nothing is interfering with it (like anti-malware).

 

Also be sure all updates are applied to Windows.

 

I know we do not have any sort of global issue here at the moment.

I've done all of that. Clean PC. Run Malware check, Spybot check... nothing wrong on this end. Am not having any problems with any other piece of software... other servers, Oculus all running fine... just Emby right now not working. Windows updated to the latest cumulative 6/2019 update... Any other advice?

I did the portable installer straight into the Windows System folder and it's working fine... definitely something wrong with the Installer Emby has to get things set up. You guys should investigate. I can't be the only one encountering this problem, but I may be one of the only ones who is taking the time to investigate.

I wonder if the browser is messing with it in some way? Have you tried using a different browser do download the setup exe?

Yeah, I really think something is interfering with it.  I still suspect some sort of anti-malware program at play.

 

Install working fine for me and we haven't had any other reports of problems - but have seen things on people's machine interfere with it before.

 

In any case, I'm glad the portable worked for you.
