Savage13 0 Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Hello all. I have been successfully able to let my emby computer go to sleep and use Emby to wake it while I'm on my home network, but I cannot get it to do the same when I'm away from home. Is that possible, and if so can anyone provide tips on how? I appreciate you all!

From a simple google search, it appears as though you just need to forward port 7 or 9 UDP to your internal server address.
Luke 42079 Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Yea but even when doing that, the apps are currently sending out the wol packets based on lan addresses, so it will not work.
Savage13 0 Posted June 14, 2019 Author Posted June 14, 2019 Thanks mastrmind11, I did search google with no luck. I tried your suggestion and it seems to be working, so thanks a ton! Mind you I only tried via my android app while not on my WiFi. I'll test on my mother-in-law's Roku at some point as she's usually the only one that uses my server that's not in my home. Luke I can report back my findings if you'd like.
Luke 42079 Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 It's OK, we would have to change the way we broadcast the wake on lan packets in order to support this. Thanks. 1
