playloud 10 Posted June 15, 2019 Author Posted June 15, 2019 The error does occur when using the Chocolate theme, that log is now attached. This time it shows during playback. There was nothing showing in the Event Viewer under "Media Center" MBClassic-14620194a3fc69b7edd4d609eaccbfc9fc8802e.log

ebr 16169 Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 It is bombarding the server with requests and may just be bogging everything down. Is this a home video library with a ton of sub-folders in it? Can you try turning off the option to show unwatched counters on folders (I think that still exists)?

Started a few versions ago but the last 3 recent beta it does it all the time now. I haven't changed any settings in emby for mc for over a year. I am enrolled in beta for both server and emc.

ebr 16169 Posted July 1, 2019 Posted July 1, 2019 I'm afraid that the way that EMC is designed is starting to get less and less compatible with newer versions of the server (it was really only supposed to be a stop-gap until Theater was ready). Does it still perform okay with the release version of the server?

Does it still perform okay with the release version of the server? I did not try the prior server release. It is a shame there isn't some way to have it load differently when it detects emc. I need media center for drm protected cable card content. I will try turning off legacy browsing and/or role back to stable release. I have noticed when using chrome to access emby, it will stop loading things. Example, I have scrolling page by page through my movie list. It stops loading the next page or showing all the content if it is a tv series folder. I have to physically hit refresh on the browser. Similar behavior with my Samsung TV app. It is slow and unusable(Samsung). If that (Samsung) worked correctly I could dump emc. Edited July 1, 2019 by jboydude

I also run EMC with the Throgsoft themes but I am at server 4.0.1.0 plus the latest EMC beta version as that was necessary for my Blu-rays. I have not updated for other reasons and EBR's comment sort of indicates that this version combination will be the final one that I will stick with. I experience none of the problems you describe when I scroll through my video wall of movie posters it zips through it but then I don't use the Chocolate theme I use the Throgsoft themes, perhaps another try that may help you.

If they don't fix this they need to remove the compatibility for mce in their marketing materials etc. I am running two separate servers one on an Intel-NUC which alsdo has Win-7 with WMC and that one is staying at the version that functions and doesn't break any of the EMC functionality. The other server is on a QNAP and that one gets updated, sort of a happy medium.

Now my library is messed up only in the new emby theater/mobile. I think it is reading 2 different sets of data and getting confused. Any tips to fix this?

After downgrading, it is showing 1 drive correctly but the second drive is a separate folder within the group. And they are all marked unplayed now.

Downgrading is generally not considered a safe operation. There are database changes in the newer version that the older version might not be able to handle. I would go back up to the beta and we'll work with you to resolve your Emc problem.

OK so back to the issue. I downgraded and it scrolls like butter. When it errors i am still in the "A's" of movies. When I skip forward with the skip button on the remote, I get about 5 clicks till it stops. Last thing I do use a collection plugin for EMC that combines movies into collections. Not sure if that was not tested with the new beta. Just a thought.
