Murf 3 Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 I created a user for my step daughter, limited it to tv14 and set time limit, every day 8am -11pm She told me last night she was able to watch a movie after 11pm, She had started it before the 11pm limit, but shouldn't iust have stopped her from watching? I need a way to make sure it is not accessible after that time. I have the tv to not allow internet connections after 11, but emby being local on my network, doesn't cover that. TIA 1
Murf 3 Posted June 13, 2019 Author Posted June 13, 2019 Is there a reason the time limits are not working properly?
ebr 16185 Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Is there a reason the time limits are not working properly? The playback process just doesn't check during playback. All other operations will be refused if outside the time limit except for delivering a video right now.

Also, even thought its our local network, if i set up emby to connect to the remote address, it will see that as internet connection and not local correct? thought i could use the remote addie so my parental controls would work with it
Luke 42080 Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 We will look into improving this in future updates. thanks.

By default, if the client is on the same network as the server it will be considered local regardless of the url it used to reach the server. You can change this in the advanced settings of the server > hosting > lan networks If you put a list of ip addresses or network masks in that field, that list will be considered local and everything else will be remote. So for example if you put just the lan ip of the server itself in that field, every client will be considered to be connected remotely except for opening the browser/emby theater on the server machine.
