mce-emby 2 Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Hi there, I have a issue, Id love some help on. Currently I have 2 media servers, both windows The first is the source of all data and the second is effectively a read only copy of the first. The second (due to its increased CPU and GPU power, also runs emby server) As the 2nd server runs emby and is effectively is a read only, I run into many issues with metadata that is not supported by your typical movie and TV sources (ie:home movies) Is there an easy way that I can embed or save metadata into folders of particular problematic media, and ensure that its the only metadata that is picked up and read? I would need to ensure the data is stored with the media and doesn't have any folder or file path information stored as that data differs on both servers. How can I create this metadata from scratch? Ive tried searching the forums and haven't had a lot of luck finding the info I need Effectively, I would like to write data for home movies and music videos to ensure that only the localised data is picked up for certain folders and to never have those images or data overwritten. Currently when I try and do this using the metadata manager, the data eventually gets overwritten by scraping (even though the metadata location is located on a SSD that is separate to the read only volumes) Any advice, would be greatly appreciated

Hi, yes, on the server that you want to write data, simply enable nfo metadata saving for each of your emby libraries. This will result in nfo files being created when metadata is saved, and the other server can read from that. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks. 1
mce-emby 2 Posted June 12, 2019 Author Posted June 12, 2019 thanks Luke So, is it OK to have emby installed on both devices from a licensing perspective? Currently its only installed on the 2nd (destination) server
