vittsof 2 Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Hello everyone, I was wondering if there is any way to disable the playback of items in a specific library. I want the user to be able to see the content but not to playback. Thank you.
pgriffith 88 Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 I don't think so, it's either access or no access, but I'm no expert, happy to be proven wrong
BAlGaInTl 288 Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 No, there is no way to do what you are looking for. I'm curious as to why you would want that?
vittsof 2 Posted June 11, 2019 Author Posted June 11, 2019 I want to create a section kind of "coming soon"
ebr 16185 Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Hi. If you create stub files, then they will display but not play.
vittsof 2 Posted June 11, 2019 Author Posted June 11, 2019 Thank you erb. This method does not help me though. its more easy to have the file in a library and move it to another for making it available than creating stub files that you have to delete later. I believe its a bit messy if you have a lot of files. anyway... since its not possible... Thank you guys for your time.
ebr 16185 Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 If you have the playable video file, why isn't it available to play? I guess that's what I'm confused about.
vittsof 2 Posted June 11, 2019 Author Posted June 11, 2019 I dont want to give to the users all the available files right away..... I want them to expect some new files from time to time.... anyway... my way of thinking!
vittsof 2 Posted June 11, 2019 Author Posted June 11, 2019 By the way.... Stub Files show up as a file that actually exists and can be played. The playback button is there and waiting...

vittsof 2 Posted June 11, 2019 Author Posted June 11, 2019 (edited) starts loading the trailers from cinema mode and then displays an error... after the trailers Edited June 11, 2019 by vittsof
ebr 16185 Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 starts loading the trailers from cinema mode and then displays an error... after the trailers Using what app? What, exactly, did the error say?
vittsof 2 Posted June 11, 2019 Author Posted June 11, 2019 (edited) from the web app. it says Playback Error There are no available streams at the moment.... or something like that. I use it in Greek Edited June 11, 2019 by vittsof
ebr 16185 Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 Hmmm... That appears to be a regression in the web app of some sort. Testing from Android TV the item is not playable as it should be. We'll have to look into that. Thanks.
vittsof 2 Posted June 11, 2019 Author Posted June 11, 2019 I can see that it is the same on android. I turned of the cinema mode to check too but the play button is there on android too and when pressed the app loads the file and loads as forever
Luke 42081 Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 That's resolved for the next app updates. Thanks.
