One2Go 120 Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 (edited) Would this include the merging of actors with musicians? Been answered in this thread or another by Luke NO! https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/74361-ability-to-merge-actors/&do=findComment&comment=754510 Edited July 25, 2019 by One2Go

levander 97 Posted January 26, 2020 Posted January 26, 2020 (edited) You said again, where's your first topic? https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/74361-ability-to-merge-actors/?p=757259 I said again because you and Happytoplay said about this issue that it shouldn’t be happening again... fbrassin 47 Posted January 27, 2020 Posted January 27, 2020 Hello, this is the first time i see something like this. As in the picture i see that the first 2 actors are duplicated. The serie is Star Trek Picard Any idea what it cuold be? Tnx @@fbrassin please read this topic. Thanks.
PenkethBoy 2068 Posted January 27, 2020 Posted January 27, 2020 i had that as well just delete one of each - which worked for me I think it was duplicate data in the metadata download

Yes, in this case where duplicates people are found within same movie/series it is enough to simply remove the ones in excess. But in my case I have duplicates in database.
runtimesandbox 171 Posted January 28, 2020 Author Posted January 28, 2020 can confirm same thing happened with mine. Do you need logs?
Luke 42077 Posted January 28, 2020 Posted January 28, 2020 Please read this topic and follow the steps that were suggested here. Thanks.
Maximus Naxsus 20 Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 (edited) Is this topic still relevant regarding duplicate actors etc? I've been facing this issue since a few years now and I assumed it was me fiddling around as I do. However, I'm more sure now that it is not me. Idea: Would it be possible to use a simple image/face recognising software to match actors? In that case you could use more less reliable source and still match duplicate actors. I'm asking because what was done with the auto intro skip feature seems partly a magic trick, I mean it is very awesome and I wasn't expecting it to be possible in the 'do it your self media server' landscape. I have upgrade my expectations since then Thanks for all the hard work and any reply that might follow ❤ Ps. I've attached 'the sigaret smoking man' as an approriate example Edited September 9, 2024 by Maximus Naxsus

I think it is best to focus on why there are two in the first place. I think in most cases on a new installation of Emby Server, this should be pretty rare nowadays. 1 1

"I think it is best to focus on why there are two in the first place" Alright, let's do that? or perhaps I misunderstood? If we are going to talk about a rebuild of my library data, that seems to open other cans of worms. I've added a lot of data myself. I would consider a lot more options if I'm okay with a starting from scratch. Is that your advice? "likely a resource intensive one" Hmm, I was not expecting that. I remember having a AMD X4 965 (now on a ThreadRipper) and somewhere around that time I tried a few foto orginisers that somehow got there hands on the Emby data. Worked like a charm in the application, next to my personal pictures, it recognised a lot of actors in backdrops. That was fun for a second. I'm obsessed with Proces Explorer and I would have remembered this proces being a resources hog. Google Picassa comes to mind. Thanks for your reply! Edited October 27, 2024 by Maximus Naxsus 1
Normunds 1 Posted May 26, 2025 Posted May 26, 2025 I've read through this thread and I do not find a way to merge people profiles. It kind of says that "it should not happen", but it happened and now what? Version 4.8.10.0 As far as I understand one profile got linked to IMBD and MovieDb, while other within 10 minutes in different movie got linked to TheTVDB. It might be because the name was spelled differently somewhere - Bae Doo-na vs Bae Doona. After some poking around I managed to link all movies to the same profile, but I find no way to remove the other profile. Apart from something like removing all ids and naming it "deleted"... I assume the only option is to search how to nuke it in db directly. That I kind of hoped to avoid 1
