frumpl 5 Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 Basically, the title says it. Can I just follow the backup guide (https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Backup) even though I'm changing the underlying OS? What else should I worry about? More in-depth background: I'm currently running Emby (and others like Sonarr, SABNzbd) in Win 8.1 in a virtual machine on an ESXi server. Another vm runs Unraid 5.0. I think it's time to upgrade to Unraid 6.x. Given Unraid 6's capabilities, I want to remove ESXi entirely and let Unraid run on the bare metal. Then, Emby, Sonarr, SABnzbd, etc. can run in dockers under Unraid. Since, I'll have to completely remove ESXi to run Unraid, I won't be able to compare settings once I pull the plug. Thanks
Guest asrequested Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 (edited) It's not unraid, but I think this has useful information for you. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/57883-not-really-hardware-but/ Edited June 9, 2019 by Doofus
Luke 42078 Posted June 9, 2019 Posted June 9, 2019 When changing operating systems my suggestion would be to only restore users and user data, and nothing beyond that.
frumpl 5 Posted June 9, 2019 Author Posted June 9, 2019 Ok, that's not much, so mostly starting from scratch. How about watch states and resume points? Are those stored in the nfo files? Will they be carried over?
