Emby Server & Client on Minix U9-H

Hi, I currently have a Minix U9-H running LibreELEC Kodi Krypton connected to my TV, which is also connected to a HDD with my library of movies and TV shows.

Up until the PC died I had it connected to my TV running Win 7 and Emby in WMC.

I find (unlike a lot of people) I'm not a fan of Kodi.

If I want to watch Catch Up or streaming channels I can do that through the Fetch Mighty which is also connected to the TV for FTA channels.

I would like to run Emby Server & Client directly from Android on The Minix. As I much prefer the interface to Kodi.

Is this possible ?

And if so how ?

Hi there, you can certainly run the client, but we have not personally tested the server on this device. Technically speaking, the server should run on most android devices running android 7.0+.

You can run our Android TV app assuming the box has a true Android TV version of Android on it.

Would I be able to find these in Google/Android store or would I have to side load them off USB ?

"Android TV" is a particular implementation of Android for TV devices.

OK installed the server - no problems - installed the client - no problems - everything works.

Can someone tell me when you start the client how to increase the size of the font on the description of episode you want to watch, at the moment you cannot read it unless you go up to the TV screen.

Maybe I need to run it with a different scheme ?

Also, make sure the device's font settings aren't set to something tiny.  Many of these not really TV boxes have defaults for close-up use instead of 10'.

The Emby TV app

All the other fonts on it are quite legible except the description of the episode

Whether or not Kodi runs on it doesn't really have any bearing on what Android version and features are there I'm afraid but, did you check the font settings?  What were they set to?

 

What does the main device launcher screen look like on this box?
