hi there,

I am a newbie to using Emby, but so far loving it.  I have a ton of movies and here is the issue.  movies from blu ray that were ripped to M4V and they play great.  some of my movies are from DVD ripped to MP4 using magic DVD Ripper and they seem to have playback issues.  it appears to be consistent at certain points in time in the movie but I cant figure any consistency regarding which MP4s have this issue and which ones don't.  the movies become pixelated much like if I was streaming from Netflix and didn't have a good connection (but i do).

I should be clear, bluray, no problems at all.  dvd's some play just fine and some have this issue

thanks!

What codecs are in these containers?  How is Emby playing this media?

Server and FFmpeg logs if present.

the movies that are having issue are DVDs that have been ripped to mp4 using "Magic DVD ripper"

one of the files with issue doesn't seem to have any codecs?

moving forward what is the 'best' format to rip these DVD to?  read a blog that mp4 & h264 was most universal?

one of the videos that im having issue with I am currently converting to mp4, 264 (dont know if it already is this), but worth a shot

MKV is a little more flexible than mp4 and probably just as universal now.

Hi, that is the ffmpeg log. Can you please attach the main embyserver log as well? Please attach the log file in it's original plain text format rather than pdf. Thanks !

ok, I ran one of the movies in question on the Roku in my bedroom.  it did the pixelated thing for a while.  Attached is the most recent log following the event.  Hope this is correct

Avis always tend to be difficult. Have you checked out our convert feature to help you convert to mkv?
