Sorry what are you referring to by this issue? I think there's multiple things being discussed in here. Thanks

Any hope on fixing this issue ?

Let me recap the problem: In mixed content libraries, the .ignore files do not ignore folders for Movies.

It works as expected for Series, but not for Movies.

Another thing i found while testing: If i place an .ignore file in a folder with a supported name scheme ("Extras" or "Trailers" for example) it works fine.

But i think an .ignore file should work no matter the name of the folder it resides in.

...as it currently does in Mixed Content Series.

Thank you for the help!

I can assume you are referring to unsupported sub-folders within a movie folder, correct?  As unsupported sub-folders turn the library view for the item into a "Folder" and nests the movie item view, even with a .ignore file in the unsupported sub-folder.

So folder detection reads the entire structure and recognized the additional layer but is not truly honoring the ignore of that unsupported additional folder layer.

I had to re-read this a few times, but yes, i think. [emoji16]

I just want .ignore files to work as advertised and ignore stuff...

The reason why this is currently waiting is because based on the way the scanning is built, it will impact the performance of the library scan to start adding these checks in the places they need to be. So this is waiting until we're able to rework a few other areas. Thanks.

Any progress on this front? 4.3.0.30 fixed most of my mixed content library issues except for that one.

To recap, i just want .ignore files to work in any folder, not just the ones with supported names. (Extras, Shorts, Trailers, etc...)

In my humble opinion, .ignore files should ignore whatever folder they're in, no matter the name, as it does in other types of libraries.

Thanks guys!

I haven't been able to look at that yet. Thanks for the feedback.

When you get around to fixing this, it's also good to know that in mixed content libraries, the issue is only for movies. For series, .ignore files work fine in any folder.

Thanks Luke !
