Friends cannot connect to my server

I am sharing my server with 2 people who cannot connect. One is using a Roku and another is using a Apple tv . I dont have a vpn or Firewall . Is it a setting on my dashboard that could be creating the issue?  Thanks for any suggestions .

You'll need to provide some more information. 

 

  • Are you able to connect to your server inside your lan via a web browser or other device?
  • Are you able to connect to your server outside your lan via a web browser or other device?
  • Do you have the appropriate ports forwarded on your router to your server?
  • Do you use a ddns service/own domain, or are your friends connecting via your external IP address & port number?

I think I have a setting with remote access blocked because I cant connect to any of my devices now. Im new to Emby so Im glad to have something to figure out .  Thanks for your suggestions

Im home and connected to my network , everything plays but the 3 users cant connect. I have not changed any settings

Looking at that User screenshot you have disabled Remote access via Dashboard-Advanced-Hosting menu "Allow remote connections to this Emby Server."

No, just access. Unless you want them to have control of the server. I wouldn't suggest that, though. And make sure everyone has good passwords.

Is this a Local and/or Remote issue?
 
Does the Dashboard show correct "In-Home (LAN) access: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" and "Remote (WAN) access: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"?  
 
Setting to verify
Dashboard-Advanced "Allow remote connections to this Emby Server."
Per user "Allow remote connections to this Emby Server."
​If other devices/computer within your network can not connect you need to look at your Firewall.
​If internal LAN devices can connect and it is only a external issue you would need to look at port forwarding.  And maybe your ISP in some situations.

When I added folks last week everything was fine. . Now no one can connect.

Does canyouseeme.org or yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports show your Emby ports open?

Emby does not use port 80 unless you have done some Advanced configuration.  Look at the Dashboard for your Ports or DashBoard-Avanced.  Default ports are 8096 and 8920.

Did your local server ip address change?  Have you verified your router is port forwarded to the correct machine ip?

I think its my Google Fiber Network box
