Guest keithcq71 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 I am sharing my server with 2 people who cannot connect. One is using a Roku and another is using a Apple tv . I dont have a vpn or Firewall . Is it a setting on my dashboard that could be creating the issue? Thanks for any suggestions .
feerlessleadr 173 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 You'll need to provide some more information. Are you able to connect to your server inside your lan via a web browser or other device? Are you able to connect to your server outside your lan via a web browser or other device? Do you have the appropriate ports forwarded on your router to your server? Do you use a ddns service/own domain, or are your friends connecting via your external IP address & port number?
Guest keithcq71 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 I think I have a setting with remote access blocked because I cant connect to any of my devices now. Im new to Emby so Im glad to have something to figure out . Thanks for your suggestions
Luke 42078 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Have you customized any of the advanced server options?
Guest keithcq71 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Im home and connected to my network , everything plays but the 3 users cant connect. I have not changed any settings
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 (edited) I just deleted everyone and added them back Looking at that User screenshot you have disabled Remote access via Dashboard-Advanced-Hosting menu "Allow remote connections to this Emby Server." Edited June 3, 2019 by Happy2Play
Guest keithcq71 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Thanks. So I need to have allow this user to manage this server enabled?
Guest asrequested Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Thanks. So I need to have allow this user to manage this server enabled? No, just access. Unless you want them to have control of the server. I wouldn't suggest that, though. And make sure everyone has good passwords.
Guest keithcq71 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 I have enable access on . Am I missing something?
Guest keithcq71 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 (edited) Is this correct? Edited June 3, 2019 by keithcq71
Guest keithcq71 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 I have remote connections checked in advance settings
JLJ 1 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 (edited) NVM you posted while I was typing my suggestion. Edited June 3, 2019 by JLJ
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Is this a Local and/or Remote issue? Does the Dashboard show correct "In-Home (LAN) access: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" and "Remote (WAN) access: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"? Setting to verifyDashboard-Advanced "Allow remote connections to this Emby Server."Per user "Allow remote connections to this Emby Server."If other devices/computer within your network can not connect you need to look at your Firewall. If internal LAN devices can connect and it is only a external issue you would need to look at port forwarding. And maybe your ISP in some situations.
Guest keithcq71 Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 When I added folks last week everything was fine. . Now no one can connect.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Does canyouseeme.org or yougetsignal.com/tools/open-ports show your Emby ports open?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 (edited) Port 80 is closed Emby does not use port 80 unless you have done some Advanced configuration. Look at the Dashboard for your Ports or DashBoard-Avanced. Default ports are 8096 and 8920. Edited June 4, 2019 by Happy2Play
Happy2Play 9780 Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Remote (WAN) access does not open Did your local server ip address change? Have you verified your router is port forwarded to the correct machine ip?
