leander091 0 Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Hello, I'm experiencing some issues with my music collection and the MusicBrainz plugin. I am seeing the same artist twice in artist view because the MusicBrainz database contains an different artist with the same name. Is it possible remove the artist from the view or blacklist an MusicBrainz identifier? As an solution i have tried to remove the metadata directory's on the filesystem but when an metadata refresh occurs the faulty metadata is downloaded again. These artists below are two of the problem artists. The correct id is:https://musicbrainz.org/artist/cc2c9c3c-b7bc-4b8b-84d8-4fbd8779e493 The duplicated id is:https://musicbrainz.org/artist/1de93a63-3a9f-443a-ba8a-a43b5fe0121e The correct id is: https://musicbrainz.org/artist/5ff525f0-a7ed-41ba-ba01-f88ebd2df482 The duplicated id is: https://musicbrainz.org/artist/3b98a0c6-faae-4754-9c08-a6671761d4ac I'm using Emby 4.1.1.0
Luke 42078 Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Hi, are your songs tagged with those different values?
leander091 0 Posted May 31, 2019 Author Posted May 31, 2019 (edited) I don't think the files are tagged with the different values, the only link i see right now is the Appars On album link. The Both artists are linking in Emby to the same album. The wrong one for example Adele, has the following data in the artist.info location: /var/lib/emby/metadata/artists/Adele <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8" standalone="yes"?> <artist> <biography /> <outline /> <lockdata>false</lockdata> <dateadded>2017-11-03 21:28:12</dateadded> <title>Adele</title> <runtime>55</runtime> <genre>Classic R&B</genre> <genre>Soul</genre> <genre>Pop</genre> <musicbrainzartistid>1de93a63-3a9f-443a-ba8a-a43b5fe0121e</musicbrainzartistid> <art /> I'm not sure at this moment where the location of the other metadata file is. Luke 42078 Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Try clicking through the metadata manager on some of the songs. You can use that to check and see if any of the songs are tagged with musicbrainz id's. If they are then it comes from information embedded within the files.
leander091 0 Posted June 1, 2019 Author Posted June 1, 2019 There are no songs tagged with musicbrainz id's in the metadata manager, only the album itself is tagged with the correct musicbrainz id.
Luke 42078 Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Ultimately if you look you'll find something tagged with the duplicated mbz id and you can simply change it to the correct one. Once the duplicated id is no longer being referenced then it should go away.
brett_1968 1 Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 If you click on the artists shouldn't it bring up a list so you can see what items have the incorrect tag?
Luke 42078 Posted June 6, 2019 Posted June 6, 2019 If you click on the artists shouldn't it bring up a list so you can see what items have the incorrect tag? Yes if you click an artist then you can see the albums from that artist, and then the songs for each album.
