Ah, thanks for the clarification, Red.  When it moves on to the next one, does it stay with the information for the first one?

Not on my end it stays the first one in the series on the overlay stuff the movie moves on but the overlay stays as the first movie in the list. This only happens when play random is selected. All other play styles work fine.

173 fixes the wrong information when playing multiple items.

 

It also adds support for the remote messaging capability that is built into the web client.  Now that we have a custom interface for the player, supporting this makes a lot more sense.

Ok, so what are we seeing?... from what I can tell, TWiT works fine in the WebClient, but are people seeing issues in MBC? I don't have WMC to test...  (on win 8.1)

I'm at a loss, I can't reproduce the server-side error with the web client, everything works fine, and I have no ability to use MBC to try and debug... does anyone have the ability to try debug the issue? @@snazy2000

 

Also, there has been a new TWiT channel update pushed out for the channel changes in the latest dev server build, would be nice to see if the issue still exists in that scenario?

Very very strange. Twig works fine for me in web but doesnt show anything just returns

I'm not sure if this has been reported yet (this thread moves pretty fast), but anytime you leave full screen video playback and return to full screen, via the NPV, the new playback UI is longer present. I was using the Classic theme to test. Can't reproduce in Chocolate.

 

Steps to Repro: Play a video, hit the back button, navigate to the NPV and return to full screen.

Snazy - that error is unrelated.  There should be an error on the actual content retrieval for the channel.  That's what I saw in the log above.

 

Sinjen, that is a possibility in some themes if they don't go to full screen in the standard way.  I'll look at classic and fix it there but it could be a problem in some other themes as well.

Im unsure why the Twig channel returns no data but all the other channels return data as its the same code :/

Right seems to be the fact that WMC doesnt return a startIndex which is what the plugin needed to show the results. 

 

Ive removed that part of the code and it works fine now in my version i will talk to @flexage 

 

One thing i did notice is that WMC seems to download the information for the channels before they are accessed is that meant to happen?

The MBC interface is not designed to page.  All the views are expecting to see the entire list of available items.  That's why there is no start index or limit provided.

 

As for the loading - we do load on demand but some themes and/or features require loading if the api can't tell us the info at a higher level.  I suspect what is happening with channels is it is trying to determine the number of un-watched items because the API didn't tell us that.

@@snazy2000 Thanks again for taking a look at that, I'm gonna spin up a new VM with my precious last Win7 licence for testing WMC/MBC

 

@@ebr Yeah it seems that it's the lack of paging support that caused the server to throw the error on my channel, having never used MBC I had no idea that paging wasn't implemented.

 

I've left snazy's fix in place for now but I have been advised to ultimately implement the server interfaces fully, and as they should be, as clients should ideally support all necessary server requirements. Hax = Bad...

 

Does it look likely that paging will be implemented in MBC, even if just for channels? Just wondering as it seems that WMC is still the preferred way to go for many MB3 users, and I've heard it's the most full windows client about ATM, MBT still has a way to go

if paging can't be implemented there's a couple fallbacks mbc can do - limit all screens to whatever the max page size is for that particular channel (not desirable, but will work)... or just look at the items result and make requests sequentially until the whole list has been retrieved.

No, paging and MBC will not likely ever work.  Most of the views in MBC are designed to be continuous, wrap-around scrollers.

 

Can I just always provide a start index of 0 and that will take care of it or does there have to be a limit as well?

I can confirm this is indeed fixed and looks wonderful. By far one of the most beautiful interfaces I have seen for MBC. Seamless and works so well now. Great job.

Ok I can confirm the Twit channel is now populating in MBC but when you select an item to play is generates an Invalid Application Error.
