diaz1510 154 Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 (edited) Well, I just had a Motherboard/CPU failure on my media server. It was the server that I was using to host emby on. The actual media files that are on the hard-drives are fine, so I still have all my actual media files. The OS HDD is also still fine however as I'm using windows 10 as the OS, I won't be able to just insert my new HDD into the new MB/CPU setup and be off and running (wish it would be that easy). I'm basically going to have to do a fresh windows install (unless anybody else knows an easier way, I am dreading having to setup my server all over again). My question about emby is: Since I have access to the original OS HDD and the emby server files on it, what can I save from the actual server setup so that I don't lose that setup? Simply copying the folder to the new windows install? Will it have to build the entire library again? How does this affect all my user accounts, watched info, favorites, plugins, logs, etc.? I was running the latest version of emby when the system failed BTW. Edited May 30, 2019 by diaz1510

Next time, though, I suggest you use the option to have all images and metadata saved in the folders with your media. Recreating libraries is very easy and quick afterwards. And use Trakt to save the watched status. Good luck. Edited May 30, 2019 by KarlDag
KarlDag 25 Posted May 30, 2019 Posted May 30, 2019 Maybe try the manual backup procedure here: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Backup
diaz1510 154 Posted May 30, 2019 Author Posted May 30, 2019 (edited) Forgot to add, I do have all the metadata stored in the media files folder as well as the Backup Plugin Edited May 30, 2019 by diaz1510
