Misinthe 46 Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Hi everyone, I am having problems with my LG TV WebOS, it keeps saying Connection Failure when I try to connect to my Server, it works fine on my other devices, it is just that one that is not working, anyone have any idea why? Thank you for your comments.
Misinthe 46 Posted May 30, 2019 Author Posted May 30, 2019 Hi there, how are you trying to connect? I am using the native app for LG smart TVs. Here are some pictures.
Misinthe 46 Posted May 30, 2019 Author Posted May 30, 2019 Hi there, how are you trying to connect? So I tried 2 other LG TV's and I have the same error. It is working on my Samsung TV's and other devices though.
Luke 42085 Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 What if you enter the server address manually? Have you tried that?
Solution Misinthe 46 Posted June 11, 2019 Author Solution Posted June 11, 2019 What if you enter the server address manually? Have you tried that? Sorry for the super late response, I've been busy with work / life so I kinda left the server down for a bit. I have a few updates. First: I did try it Manually and with EmbyConnect, my internal network LG TVs started working like that. Second: I couldn't get to the server from outside my network, that's kinda why I took to long to take a look at it, since it didn't bothered me that much. So after a lot of testing I decided to go into my router and check on my Port Forwarding again, apparently when I lost power a few weeks ago my ip changed, so the port wasn't being forwarded to the right IP Address, I put in the right IP and it seems to be working fine now, thank you for your help Luke, you are great! 1
Luke 42085 Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Thanks for the feedback. What IP changed, your internal, or external IP?
Misinthe 46 Posted June 12, 2019 Author Posted June 12, 2019 Thanks for the feedback. What IP changed, your internal, or external IP? It was my internal IP, it went from 192.168.1.11 to 192.168.1.17.
Luke 42085 Posted June 12, 2019 Posted June 12, 2019 Ok, I was just asking because you can prevent this from happening again in the by just assigning a static IP for your server machine. This way it will always be 192.168.1.17, or whatever you choose.

I will give it a static IP then.
