chef 3810 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 (edited) Hi, my mom and dad have a Sony Android TV with the Emby Android TV app installed on it. It is connected to my server at my house. Playback was, as far as I know, quiet flawless. But all of a sudden playback stops intermittently. Not that the stream ends, it is almost like it is buffering (1990's style). I have tried changing Mb/s to trigger transcoding, and also tried Direct Playing. In both instances the pausing is happening. When transcoding I can watch the transcoding buffer get the video file buffer way ahead of the stream... So it's not that. Could it be their internet speeds causing issues? I have a gigabit fiber line so it can't be my end. Any feed back would be great. Edited May 28, 2019 by chef
mastrmind11 722 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Just spent the weekend on an external Sony and didn't have any issues, so it's likely not app related. Sounds more like a network issue. 1
Luke 42078 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Yes this usually means the bitrate is too high. Try setting it to a low value and then work your way up from there. 1
