.vob file skipping / scrubbing

Apologies firstly if this is in the wrong section.

 

I've got some single file .vob (merged from dvd rip) but I'm unable to skip through the movie when it's playing.

it does however give me the first 7 seconds which it allows me to skip though...

 

This also happens if i leave the movie as individual vob files

 

any assistance would be much appreciated

Playing how?  With what app?

Just through mediabrowser (client connecting to the server)

Web, android, ios, xbmc, mbc, mbt...

It's via the web client on any browser on a local network.

 

I'd just assumed it was me missing something rather than it being an actual fault...

 

I'll shall post up the logs in a bit

Luke can confirm but I suspect it is having to transcode these on the fly in order to play them in the web client so there isn't any way to seek beyond what has been transcoded (which will only be a few seconds at first).

Can't really wade through 78 log files but I notice there are a bunch of transcode logs so my suspicion is probably correct.

how does the logging work then??  does it make a log for each file?

these are two logs dated today with the work "Romeo" in.

 

seem to consistently give the error "FFMpeg exited with code -1"
