Emby Server Won't Restart After Upgrade

Emby Server successfully downloads and installs v 3.4.1, but freezes up upon pressing re-start.

Those are both pretty old server versions.  Mine's currently on  v4.1.1.0 

A couple of the earlier server versions has some issues with the plugins.

You can try uninstalling them and see if that helps?

OK, will try uninstalling some plug ins. Just not really enthusiastic about installing v 4.1.1.0 over my current build and having to start from scratch re genre icons, media locations (spread across multiple drives, folders for multiple resolutions, etc.)

I would suggest shutting them down and installing the latest from the website on top of your existing version. Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.
