rckrchrdsn 0 Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 I have a movie that has a 1967 and 2018 version. Both have been loaded into the Movies subdir that Emby Server points to. The two subdirs are adjacent in a Window Explorer look at the file system. When I go to Movies and see the page list, I see the 1967 version but not the 2018 version. When I do a search on "Mary Poppins" I get both. I can place the 2018 version in a collection of kids movies and it is there. Just not in the master list. I have run both in Emby Theater and in the browser viewer. I get the same behavior in both and in my Android app, so I think this points to the server.
Luke 42085 Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Hi there, can you please show us the folder structure for this? Perhaps a screenshot? Thanks !
dansblackcat 37 Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 Isn't the 2018 movie called "Mary Poppins Returns"? Do you have it named as that?

rckrchrdsn 0 Posted May 27, 2019 Author Posted May 27, 2019 (edited) Here is the file structure. All the metadata for the MP 2018 was set up correctly and automatically by Emby. (I LOVE that feature.) As I said MP 2018 appears with a search and the selection page is normal and it plays correctly. Other than not showing up on the main list of movies, everything is great. I haven't noticed this for any other movie, but I haven't been looking. I use the search mostly. My grandson noticed this. Edited May 27, 2019 by rckrchrdsn
Luke 42085 Posted May 27, 2019 Posted May 27, 2019 When you click on the 1967 version, is there a version selection on the detail screen? Does it show the 2018 version there by chance?

No, there is no reference to the 2018 version. It does show my specials lower in the page for the 1967 version. When I bring up the 2018, it does not show the 1967 version, either.
Deathsquirrel 745 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Do you have the option to group movies into collections enabled? Clearly the server knows the movie is there if it shows up in searches and can be added to collections. If you do have that enabled, disable it. If the movie shows up, it wasn't displayed likrey due to being in a collection. You could check its metadata for a collection ID if so. 1

I added movie to a collection and it disappeared and removed it from the collection and it reappeared. Thanks. I reread the doc on collections and searched the rest of the doc and could not find this feature. Where would I find it?

When viewing your movies click the three dot menu and you'll see the option. I'd leave it enabled in general but it's good to know where it is in case you need to turn it off as a test. 1
Luke 42085 Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 This setting is off by default. Since you turned it on, this is why this happened.

Don't think I would have found it without your help.
Luke 42085 Posted May 29, 2019 Posted May 29, 2019 Just keep in mind you would have had to turn it on in the first place for this to happen. What were you expecting it to do?
